So far no Bengali film maker has tried to touch the topic of zombies but with the upcoming film Zombiesthaan , zombies are going to make their entry in Bengali movies. The film will be directed by Abhirup Ghosh who had made his directorial debut with the movie K Secret Eye. His second film Rohoshyo Romancho Series which has been released recently on an OTT platform is grabbing everyone’s attention. His third film is currently in post production stage and Zombiesthaan will be his fourth film as a director. It will be produced by new production house Krishna Motion Pictures.

Mostly Zombies are associated with gory horror movies but director Abhirup Ghosh will use the concept of zombies as a metaphor to show the future of human being. According to him, in today’s world most of the people are blindly following the trends without much using their own thinking capabilities. If we continue to live like this then in future we might turn into a creature who will stop using their brains and turn into a zombies. The film will be set in future in 2030 when most of the human population has turned into zombies or has been killed by zombies. In such a situation there is a lone survivor in Bengal named Akira. She believes there is a safe place for the VIPs and she will survive if she can reach to that place. The film will focus on her journey for survival. During her journey she will meet various type of persons and will gather different experiences. Tnusree Chakraborty will be seen in the lead role as the girl. Rudranil Ghosh and Rajatava Dutta will play the persons whom she will meet during her journey.

Abhirup Ghosh has already shown some promise with his first two movies and it is expected that with a refreshing concept like this he will live up to the expectations set by his prior works. Currently shooting for the film is in progress and it is scheduled to release sometime towards the end of this year.
