Teaser of the movie “Gumnaami”
Netaji’s death is still an unsolved mystery. Some people believe Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was died in 1945 because of a plane crash in Taiwan. Some people also believe that he was alive after the crash and was living a secret life after that. Most of us are clueless about the truth behind this speculations. Now there are better chances to know the facts related with this mystery as director Srijit Mukherji is all set to give answers of all these queries through his next film Gumnaami which is scheduled to release during this Puja.The film will be based on the hearings of Mukherjee Commission.
On the occasion of 73rd Independence Day of India, teaser of the film has been released on digital platforms. The teaser begins with excerpts from the life of Subhash Chandra Bose, featuring Prosenjit Chatterjee as Netaji. These portions have been shot in black and white giving it an authentic look of that period. This is followed by the current day situation which shows Anirban Bhattacharya as a journalist who is trying to find the truth behind Netaji’s death and its connection with Gumnaami Baba. This portion also shows Prosenjit Chatterjee in some never before seen looks of Netaji. Although it intentionally hides the most challenging look of Prosenjit Chatterjee as the aged man Gumnaami Baba to create more curiosity.
Undoubtedly the film belongs to Srijit Mukherji and Prosenjit Chatterjee but after watching the trailer one can easily say that make up artist Somnath Kundu deserves equal credits for creating such authentic looks of Netaji and Gumnaami Baba. Srijit Mukherji, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Durga Puja is always a winning combination. On top of that this intriguing teaser has created more curiosity for the film.
