Here comes the first song Subhasji from the much awaited Puja release Gumnaami directed by Srijit Mukherji.

The song was originally composed by 35 lakh Indians and the soldiers of Azad Hind Fauj, and sung by them to welcome Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, when he returned to Singapore on 3rd July 1943. For the film it has been recreated beautifully by Indraadip Das Gupta. On top of that Sonu Nigam’s soulful voice has taken the song to another level. This song definitely deserves to be listened in loop.

The video of the song is also amazing. The way Srijit Mukherji and his team has recreated the historical period and characters is commendable. Looking at the video of the song it is tough to believe that it is actually Prosenjit Chatterjee acting as Netaji, rather it is looking like we are watching the real video footage of that period.
