From last few years, watching a Byomkesh movie has became a must for every Bengali during Durga Puja. This year this trend will be continued with Satyanweshi Byomkesh but this time it will be altogether a different experience with a new cast and crew. After Abir Chatterjee, Jishhu Sengupta and Anirban Bhattacharya, this time we will see  Parambrata Chatterjee playing the iconic sleuth. He will be accompanied by Rudranil Ghosh by his side as Ajit. The film has been produced by Greentouch Entertainment and R T Network Solutions. It has been directed by Sayantan Ghosal who has already directed Byomkesh web series for digital platform and his work has been well appreciated.

Satyanweshi Byomkesh will be based on the story Magno Mainak written by Sharadindu Bandopadhyay and it will be set in the backdrop of 1971. Anjan Dutt who has already directed many Byomkesh movies, has written the screenplay for the film and he is also the creative supervisor for the film. Apart from that he is also acting in the film in a significant character. The film will also feature Gargee Roychowdhury and Ayoshi Talukdar in other important characters.

This time, not only the cast and crew is new but the narrative approach will also be different from other movies of this franchise. That hint has been given prominently in the teaser of the film that has been released recently. The teaser does not focus on the crime which Byomkesh is supposed to investigate rather it tells this time the story telling approach will be different. In the teaser we can see Parambrata as Satyanweshi who is telling to the audience that politics always had an important connection with his stories but so far his friend Ajit has intentionally ignored the political connection from the plot. Basic human emotions have always get more priority in Ajit’s narration as it allures the audience more. Finally  in the teaser Byomkesh gives a hint that we have enough of this approach and now it is time to change the narrative style for Byomkesh.

We all are excited to see our favorite sleuth in a new look and feel, in this Puja. Till then keep calm and have a look at the teaser here:
