Raj Chakraborty to make a multi starer political drama titled as Dharmajuddha
Director Raj Chakraborty’s latest film Parineeta is scheduled to release in the first week of September. Soon after its release, he is all set to start shooting for his next film titled as Dharmajuddha. The film will be produced by his own production house Raj Chakraborty Productions along with Shyamlal Agarwal. It will be Raj Chakraborty’s second directorial for his home production after Parineeta.
It will be a political drama set in a locality situated near border area. It is a place where violence over religious differences is a very regular affair. The film will revolve around five central characters ; an aged woman, a girl who is her caretaker and three strangers who come to take shelter in her house. The film will focus on the equations between these five characters, going through a situation of communal violence around them. It will also focus on how their past lives will impact their present condition.
Veteran actress Swatilekha Sengupta will be seen playing the aged woman. The other four characters will be played by Ritwick Chakraborty, Soham Chakraborty, Subhashree Ganguly and Parno Mittra. Both Swatilekha Sengupta and Parno Mittra will be working with Raj Chakraborty for the first time. Also it will be the first time when Ritwick Chakraborty and Soham Chakraborty will share screen together.
Most of the time, Raj Chakraborty is associated with remakes but now he is trying to come out of that image doing content based movies with original story idea. Dharmajuddha will be his next step in that direction. The story and screenplay of the film has been written by Padmanabha Dasgupta. Shooting for the film is scheduled to begin in September and it is scheduled to release in this December.
