Shrabanti and Aparajita Adhya to play sisters in upcoming choreo-musical-thriller “Poila Boishakh”

Srabanti Chatterjee and Aparajita Adhya are all set to play sisters in upcoming film Poila Boishakh directed by debutante director Bhashkar Chaudhuri. He has also written the screenplay along with Rana Mukherjee and Dwipayan Dutta Roy. It will be a choreo-musical-thriller where music and dance will play a vital role along side a psychological thriller.

This will be the story of two Bengali sisters who are trained classical dancers and live in a village in Jharkhand. They teach Bengali dance forms there in order to save the cultural heritage of Bengal. Once they get a chance to perform in Kolkata during an event on Polia Boishakh. This event brings a big turn in their lives. They find some life threatening danger is looming around them. From this point it turns into a survival thriller. Besides Srabanti Chatterjee and Aparajita Adhya the cast will also include popular actors like Paran Bandopadhyay, Sujan Mukherjee, Shantilal Mujherhee, Kamaleshwar Mujherjee in supporting roles. Apart from them singer Iman Chakraborty will also make her acting debut with this film in a significant character.

Bengal’s ancient music will play a major role in the film. Music will be composed by¬† director Bhashkar Chaudhuri and Debashis Shome. The songs will include lyrics written by popular poets from Bengal like Vidyaptai, Jaydev, Bhushukpada. As the film revolves around two dancers and their effort to save the traditional dance forms so choreography will also play a vital role in the film. Raktim Goswami and Abhiyan will do choreography for the film. The film will be produced by Three Wish Entertainment Productions who had earlier produced the movie Raktakarobi. Currently the film is in pre-production stage and it is expected to go on floors from March 2019 with Shubhankar Bhar as the DOP. The tentative release date is around September 2019.
