Rituparna Sengupta is currently busy shooting for her next film based on the novel Rajani written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1877. This movie will be directed by debutante director Bappa Banerjee. The central character of the story was a blind girl named Rajani and the story revolved around the ups and downs in her life. But director Bappa Banerjee is going to present the story in a different point of view. His film will be centered around the other important character of the story, Labangolata. That is why the film is named as Amar Labangolata. According to the director Labagolata’s character is very much significant to the story as her actions brings big change in Rajani’s life so he want to tell his story through Labangolata’s point of view.
Rituparna Sengupta will play the title role of Labangolata. Apart from her the film will feature Indraneil Sengupta as Amarnath and Bangladeshi actor Alamgeer as Ramsaday Mitra.
