After the huge success of Maacher Jhol everyone is looking forward to director Pratim D Gupta’s next film Ahare Mon. In the meantime Pratim D Gupta has already started shooting for his next film which has been titled as Ink. Shooting for the film was secretly going on for sometime, even a portion of the film was shot during the premiere of the film Guptodhoner Sondhane few weeks back.
Now it is not a secret project anymore, director Pratim D Gupta has revealed the details of the film. The script of the film is very close to his heart and he wanted to make it as a Hindi film. But finally it is getting made in Bengali. In 2014 the same script was selected for the prestigious Sundance Screenwriters Lab. The story is about the strange relationship between a superstar and a journalist of an English daily. Infact before turning a filmmaker Pratim himself has worked as a film journalist with some English newspapers. His own experiences must have helped him to give more authentic inputs to the script.
Once again he has cast his most favourite actors Ritwick Chakraborty and Paoli Dam. With both of them it will be his fourth film. Paoli will be seen as a superstar and Ritwick Chakraborty will essay the character of a journalist. Director Goutam Ghoshe will be seen as the editor of the newspaper. Apart from them Shankar Chakraborty, Ambarish Bhattacharya will also be there in significant roles. Swaroopa Ghosh who was seen in movies like Vicky Donor and Piku will also be a part of the cast. Chitrangada Chakraborty who is all set to make her debut with Pratim’s next Ahare Mon will be seen in a crucial role in Ink.
Shubhankar Bhar who has worked with Pratim D Gupta in Maacher Jhol and Mirchi Malini is working as the DOP for this film. As it is a thriller with not much scope for music, so no composer has been signed so far for this film. Shooting for a major portion of the film has been done already but nothing has been confirmed about the release plans as of now.
