Anirban Bhattacharya and Mimi Chakraborty in Arindam Sil’s next thriller

After getting much appreciation for his last film Byomkesh Gowtro, director Arindam Sil is all set to start his next film. Once again it will be a thriller but it will be very different from Byomkesh or Shabar movies. According to Arindam, it will be his tribute to his favorite filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.  To give it a fresh feel he has changed his script writer also. Unlike his earlier movies this time Padmanabha Dasgupta has not written the script. Bollywood famed Bengali writer Arijit Biswas (known for co-writing movies like Badlapur and Andhadhun) has co-written the story and screenplay with director Arindam Sil.

The film will revolve around the character of married woman who has come out of coma. She has a loving husband and caring in laws but soon she starts realizing that things are not as simple as it is appearing. Her mind leads her towards a violent truth which is very contradictory to what she is observing around her. Mimi Chakraborty will play this challenging character. Earlier Mimi had played a strong character in Arindam Sil’s much appreciated film Dhananjoy. Anirban Bhattacharya who was also there in Dhananjoy will play Mimi’s husband’s character in this film. Earlier when the film was announced, Sayani Gupta and Abir Chatterjee were supposed to play these characters but they have been replaced at the last moment before starting shooting for the film due to some logistical issues. There is one more change in the cast Harsh Chhaya who has worked with Arindam in two Byomkesh movies has replaced Adil Hussain in a significant character. Tnusree Chakraborty will also be there playing an important character. Apart from them June Malya, Tanushree Shankar, Jayant Kriplani, Saurav Das will appear in supporting characters.

The film has been tentatively titled as Khela Jokhon and it will be produced by Shree Venkatesh Films. It will be their seventh film with Director Arindam Sil. Like all his earlier films once again Bickram Ghosh will compose music and background score for the film. Shubhankar Bhar has been appointed as the DOP. Shooting for the film is expected to begin from the month of February at different locations  of Kolkata, Odisha and Kurseong.
