Arpita Chatterjee joined the cast of “Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri”

Recently Dev Entertainment Ventures had announced their new movie Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri, a fairy tale story to be directed by Aniket Chattopadhyay. During the announcement it was told that Saswata Chatterjee and Kharaj Mukherjee will be seen as Raja Hobu Chandra and Mantri Gobu Chandra. But the search was on for the leading lady to play the queen opposite Saswata Chatterjee. Finally the wait is over, actress Arpita Chatterjee has been roped in to play Rani Kusumkali, the queen of Bombagadh. Along with this announcement the makers have also  released the motion poster of the film which introduces of the three lead characters of the film.

Both Saswata Chatterjee and Kharaj Mukherjee have worked with Aniket Chattopadhyay in several movies but for Arpita Chatterjee it will be her first experience with the director. It is also her first movie with Dev as a producer. She is mostly associated with serious kind of cinema and we have hardly seen her doing comedy so it will be a refreshing change to see her working in a completely different genre.

Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri

As reported earlier, Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri will be a fairy tale comedy based on two short stories by Dakshinaranjan Mitra Majumdar. It is a story of a fictitious kingdom named Bombagadh. Such fairy tale stories are very much popular in Bengali TV serials but since a long time no Bengali movie has been made based on a fairy tale story. Hopefully Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri will help to begin the trend. Shooting for the movie has just started and it is schedule to release during Christmas this year. So this Christmas kids are going to have a fun ride for sure.
