Churni Ganguly announced her new film as a director “Tarikh”

In 2014 , very talented actress Churni Ganguly had made her directorial debut with Nirbashito, after that there was a long gap for her next film as a director. Now finally the wait is over as she has announced her next film as a director titled Tarikh. This film will be produced by Suparnokanti Karati under his production company Opera Movies. Suparnokanti Karati had made his debut as a producer last year with much acclaimed and highly successful film Bishorjon directed by Kaushik Ganguly. After one year he is back to make next film as a producer. In fact during the making of Bishorjon, they got to know about the story idea of Tarikh from Churni Ganguly.

Tarikh will be a story of three friends, a conformist played by Raima Sen, a realist played by Ritwick Chakraborty and an idealist played by Saswata Chatterjee. Apart from these three , there will be a story of a group of young students. Their story will be connected with the three main protagonist. Among the rest of the cast, there will be Kaushik Ganguly, June Malya, Aloknanda Roy, Ardhendu Banerjee. Earlier Churni Ganguly was supposed to make the same film with Rituparna Sengupta , Srijit Mukherji and Abir Chatterjee but that casting did not work out for some reasons and now they have been replaced by the trio of Raima, Ritwick and Saswata. Kaushik Ganguly has worked with all these talented actors earlier but for Churni Ganguly it will be first time experience to direct Raima Sen and Ritwick Chakraborty. Saswata Chatterjee was also there in her earlier film Nirbashito. The film will also focus on the effect of social media in our day to day life and relationships, the first look poster of the film tells that very clearly. It has been designed wonderfully with a touch of images related to popular social media site Facebook.

Shooting for Tarikh has already started at different locations of Kolkata. Gopi Bhagat is working as the DOP and Raja Narayan Deb has been appointed as music composer. Nothing has been finalized about the release date of the film so far.
