Mitin Mashi to return on next Puja with “Keralay Kistimat”
Bengali literature’s only female detective character, Pragyaparamita Mukherjee aka Mitin Mashi has already made her big screen debut and she has received a warm welcome by everyone. People from every age group is liking the film and that is reflecting in its box office collection as well. The huge positive response for the film has inspired the makers to make it a franchise, so they have decided to come up with the second installment of Mitin Mashi franchisee. It will be based on Late Suchitra Bhattacharya’s story Keralay Kistimat and it will release during Puja 2020.
Recently production house Camellia Productions and director Arindam Sil has confirmed the news. Although in the beginning they were not sure whether they should continue it as a franchise or not but the kind of response the film is getting that has made them more confident to take a step ahead. Once again Koel Mallick will be seen in the character of Mitin and Shubrajit Dutta and Riya Banik will be there as Mitin’s husband Partha and niece Tupur. Nothing has been decided about the rest of the cast as of now. The technical team will be almost same including cinematographer Subhankar Bhar, composer Pt. Bickram Ghosh.
As the backdrop of the story is set in Kerala so a large portion of the film will be set in Kerala. It will be a bonus for the audience to enjoy the scenic beauty of Kerala along with an engaging thriller. So far Arindam Sil has taken us on tour of Varanasi, Doars and Mussoorie with his Byomkesh movies. And we have seen how beautifully he presents the beauty of the exotic locations without being diverted from the main plot. Hopefully he will showcase the exotic beauty of Kerala in a similar way.
