Its been almost ten months since we had seen Mimi Chakraborty on big screen. After the march release Mon Jane Na, she took a break from movies to give priority to her responsibilities as an elected member of parliament. It was a short term break only as she has always mentioned that she is not going to stop doing movies. Finally she has find a perfect script to make a comeback in movies. The film will be titled as Dracula Sir and it will be directed Debaloy Bhattacharya who has earlier directed two movies Roga Hoar Sahoj Upay and Bidaay Byomkesh. The film will be produced by Shree Venkatesh Films.

Mimi will be seen playing a widow in the film. Besides Mimi, the film will also feature versatile actor Anirban Bhattacharya in the title role. He will be seen playing a school teacher who is called as Dracula Sir by his students as he has a pair of canine teeth. Later situations lead him to be a vampire in real. According to film maker Debaloy Bhattacharya it will be psychological thriller set in the backdrop 1971’s Bengal where the time period will play a significant part in the story. So far no one has explored the topic of Dracula and vampire in Bengali movies so it will a be refreshing concept. Nothing much have been shared about the plot as of now to keep the secret guarded.

Earlier Debaloy Bhattacharya had directed two feature movies, both the movies had unique story ideas but failed to connect with audience for clumsy story telling. But recently he has directed few shows for OTT platform and those have been well accepted by the audience. Hopefully his third film will give him recognition as film director as well. Shooting for the film will begin in January 2020.
