Almost an year ago Shree Venkatesh Films had officially announced the third installment of Kakababu franchise titled as Kakababur Protyaborton and it was scheduled to release on Durga Puja 2020. Everything was going on as per schedule from pre-production to shooting but unfortunately because of COVID19 and lockdown the situation changed a lot. As a result we missed to see Kakababu on big screen during Puja. Finally the long wait is over and the film is all set to release on Christmas this year. Recently the makers have made an official announcement about its release date along with a new poster.

Once again it will feature Prosenjit Chatterjee and Aryann Bhowmik as Kakababu and Santu. Besides them it will also feature Anirban Chakrabarti in an important character. After desert and mountain, this time Kakababu will take us to an adventurous journey in the jungles of South Africa. The film will be based on Sunil Gangopadhyay’s story Jongoler Moddhye Ek Hotel. The last two movies in Kakababu franchise Mishwar Rawhosyo and Yeti Obhijaan were big success commercially but some of the loyal fans of director Srijit Mukherji do not find those movies among his best work. According to Srijit Mukherji, this time he has tried to work on the feedback of his fans and he has made some changes in the original story to make it look more interesting as a film. After this long phase of lockdown cinema hall owners are looking for a big crowd puller to compensate their huge losses. Hopefully Kakababur Protyaborton will help them in a big way in this matter.
