Trailer of the movie “Hullor”
By now, most of the production houses of Bengali cinema have already understood it very well that so called mainstream movies which are nothing but unofficial remakes are not going to work anymore. But still there are few people who want to carry on the trend and Eskay Movies is one of them. So they are ready to release their new comedy Hullor, directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee. It is a multi starer that features Soham Chakraborty, Srabanti, Om and Darshana Banik along with the group of many popular comic actors of Bengali movies which includes Kanchan Mallick, Biswanath Basu, Supriyo Dutta, Subhasish Mukherjee and many more.
The film was shot last year and was getting delayed for release, after watching its trailer one can understand why it was getting delayed. There is hardly any takers for such so called mainstream movies now. Hullor is an unofficial remake of 2001’s comedy Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega which itself was a remake of of 1993’s Telegu film Money. The story revolves around three unemployed guys who live together in a rented house. They are going through a financial crisis. In this situation they get an offer from a henpecked husband who asks them to kidnap his wife so that he can collect a good ransom from his rich father-in-law. They takes the offer in hope to earn some easy money but their plan turns into chaos and creates lots of funny situations. The plot is interesting but over exposed, we have seen such stories several times.
In his last two movies, director Abhimanyu Mukherjee had tried to experiment with original ideas so it is surprising why he choose to direct a remake. Although the trailer of the film is not looking much promising still hope he will add some creativity to the film rather than blindly copying it.
