Detective thrillers are selling like hot cake in Bengali film industry and the latest one to join this trend is director Mainak Bhaumik with his new movie Goyenda Junior. It will be his third film with the production house Shree Venkatesh Films after Generation Aami and Bornoporichoy. With this new film he is all set to introduce a new detective character named Bikram. Unlike the other popular sleuths this detective is not a professional investigator rather he is a regular teenager boy who has a sharp mind and good observation power. With the help of these qualities, he will help a crime branch officer to investigate a crime.

According to director Mainak Bhaumik, Goyenda Junior will not be a typical detective thriller that revolves around crime only rather it will have an emotional angle too about the lead character of Bikram who is an orphan living with his uncle and aunty. Besides being a thriller the film will also focus on how this loner teenager guy is dealing with his own personal problems that every teenager faces in their growing up age.

Very talented young actor Rwitobroto Mukherjee is playing the title role. He was also there in the lead role in Mainak’s last film Generation Aami. His performance was well appreciated in that film. The film will also feature Rwitobroto’s real life father Shantilal Mukherjee in a significant character who will guide Bikram in his investigation. Besides the father son duo the film will also feature some of the other young actors from Generation Aami including Anusha Vishwanathan who had played Rwitobroto’s friends in that film.

The film is currently in its post production stage and it is scheduled to release in this September.
