Trailer of the movie “Dwitiyo Purush”

For the first time director Srijit Mukherji is making a sequel that too of the much appreciated thriller Baishe Srabon which is unanimously one of his best work till date. For obvious reasons there is a huge curiosity for the film Dwitiyo Purush, since when the makers have announced it. Finally the much awaited trailer of the film has been released.

The trailer begins with the popular dialogue by Prosenjit Chatterjee from the climax scene of Baishe Srabon. It has been placed in a voice over along with the visuals of some wonderfully shot chase sequences in the narrow allies of the city. This audio visual combination immediately takes us to nine years back with the nostalgic memories of Baishe Srabon. Soon after that the trailer brings us to the present scenario where s serial killer is committing crimes back to back. Almost a decade has passed, now we can see Parambrata Chatterjee’s Abhijit Pakrashi is a senior investigating officer who is assisted by a junior officer named Rajat played by Gaurav Chakrabarty. Abhijit is not a naive anymore, he has evolved a lot with his experiences with crime and criminals. There have been changes in his personal life as well, now he is married to his girlfriend Amrita played by Raima Sen. But their equation is still the same, they still keep fighting over different issues. The third angle in this romantic track Surjo, played by Abir Chatterjee is also there. Also, there is a new version of the love ballad Je Kata Din by Anupam Roy and we can hear a portion of that in the trailer. Besides this old characters, the big surprise of the trailer is the two new added characters played by Anirban Bhattacharya and Rwitobroto Mukherjee. Srijit Mukherji is well aware of the versatility of Anirban and he has continuously utilized that in his last few films. In Dwitiyo Purush again he has presented Anirban in a never before seen avatar. Rwitobroto Mukherjee is a complete revelation in the trailer. So far he has worked with many prominent film makers but everyone had typecast him as a sweet innocent teenager, but this film will surely break that image. We can also see the actors Ridhima Ghosh, Babul Supriyo and Subhra Sourav Das in the trailer.

The trailer is smartly edited which creates enough curiosity without divulging anything about the plot which is very much essential for a suspense thriller. From the trailer it is very much clear that Dwitiyo Purush is going to be the perfect successor to the cult thriller Baishe Srabon. The film is going to release on January 23rd, 2020, till then enjoy the gripping trailer.
