Indraadip Das Gupta announced his third directorial “Bismillah” featuring Riddhi Sen

Music composer turned director Indraadip Das Gupta has grabbed everyone’s attention with his directorial debut Kedara which has received much appreciation at several film festivals and now ready for theatrical release in November. In the meantime he has already wrapped up shooting for his second film as a director that is Agantuk featuring Abir Chatterjee and Sohini Sarkar. Now he is all set to start shooting for his third film Bismillah from the beginning of next year. Recently he announced about this film during the poster and trailer launch of Kedara. Bismillah will be produced by Kaleidoscope, the same production house that had produced Kedara.

The story and screenplay for the film is being developed by Indraadip Das Gupta along with Padmanabha Dasgupta. It will be a story of young musician named Bismillah whose life takes a complete turn after his father’s sudden death. It makes him the sole earning member of his family that has his mother, step mother and his siblings. His father was a Sehnai player and after his death, Bismillah chooses the same occupation for survival but by heart he wanted to play flute. This film will focus on his tough journey where he has to make compromises for survival and responsibilities towards his family. It will also have an angle of Hindu Muslim issue which is very much relevant in today’s time.

The film will feature Riddhi Sen in the title role. It will be his first appearance in a lead role after the much appreciated film Nagarkirtan. In this film he will also share screen with his Nagarkirtan director Kaushik Ganguly who will play his father. Apart from these two, the film will also feature Rudranil Ghosh, Bidipta Chakraborty, Daminee Benny Basu and Surangana Bandopadhyay in important characters. Shooting for the film is about to begin from January next year at different locations in Purulia.
