Asur is definitely one of the much awaited films of year 2020 for several reasons. In this film, for the first time Jeet is working with director Pavel. Both of them are popular for two different style of film making so people are excited to see the outcome of this unusual combination. Also the film will reunite two super stars Jeet and Abir after a long gap of five years, these two were seen together last time in the film The Royal Bengal Tiger. Moreover, with this film Nusrat is making a comeback to movies after more than a year.

The casting and its director itself are the big factors to create enough buzz for the film but after watching its trailer one can be sure that the story of the film is going to be its biggest USP. The trailer begins with a brief introduction of the three central characters Kigaan, Bodhi and Aditi, played by Jeet , Abir and Nusrat. They used to be friends during their college days but a lot has changed in their relationships with time, specially between Bodhi and Kigaan. Besides being a film about friendship the film will also be a tribute to famous sculptor and painter Ramkinkar Baij. The film will show the hardships that an artist has to go through in his life. Jeet’s character Kigaan will be seen playing a sculptor and painter who is trying to create world’s largest Durga idol. Because of his hatred for Kigaan, Bodhi wants to destroy this creativity by any means. Writer director Pavel has smartly incorporated references from the real life events related with the largest Durga idol made by a popular club in Kolkata few years back.

Jeet is looking promising in the trailer. He has come out of his super star image to play a character as per the demand of the story. This transformation is showing not only in his appearance but in his performance as well. Abir Chatterjee is playing a grey character with much conviction. Earlier also he has played negative characters in few movies but this portrayal is looking more effective than the earlier ones. The trailer does not offer much information about Nusrat’s character but hopefully she will also play an equally important part in the lead trio. Asur is scheduled to release on January 3rd, 2020, till then enjoy the trailer :
